While we’re looking at different skill sets for each role below, all our Squad members should check the boxes below:
You’re a joy to work with | Team players are a must, and it’s important that you’re able to accept and integrate feedback. This doesn’t mean you can’t speak your mind or push back on feedback you don’t agree with; but it does mean that people should generally enjoy collaborating with you, that you can celebrate wins as a team, and you’re always willing to leave the client feeling great about the end product.
You’ve got ready availability | You don’t have to be available 9 - 5, but we do need you to be reachable throughout the day within a reasonable timeframe. Replying to Slack messages and emails, flagging if you’re going on vacation—all these things are important so we can communicate your availability to the clients you’re working with.
Note: working a full-time job outside of freelancing or only being available certain days of the week is totally fine, as long as we have that information in advance and you’re still able to meet deadlines. We also always aim to respect personal working hours and avoid evening and weekend replies (unless that’s your preferred time to work).
You’re willing to see things through to an exceptional result | We aim to have crystal clear scopes of work, but occassionally things crop up that need a little extra love. We believe in fair compensation for the work you do, but sometimes a little extra touch can go a long way to securing another project. And hey, misses happen, and when they do, we appreciate team members able to jump in and fix their mistake quickly, calmly, and professionally.
You can stick to budgets and timelines | We get it—sometimes things come up that push a deadline or change the scope. When that happens, you’re one to flag it as early as possible with our team so we can manage and support, but otherwise? You’re sticking to budgets and timelines like a toddler’s hand to a popsicle.
You’ve got experience | We’re looking for people who have been working in their field for 5+ years and really know their stuff. This means your hourly rate is probably $100+/hr.

You understand the strategy behind welcome flows, abandoned cart series, and conversion emails. You love a good conversation about audience segmentation and can easily create, monitor, and improve emails in MailChimp, Klaviyo, and other email platforms.
